There seems to be a success of Blu-ray, both the players and the movies. Players first. Since many world-leading electronics manufacturers have produced Blu-ray players and developed further in the technology, this kind of newly born technique has won the heart of many customers around the whole world. With the continuous depreciation of Blu-ray players, more and more people are more willing to get so high-tech a machine. And then let’s come to Blu-ray movies. Well, some movies are doomed to be popular in Blu-ray editions, such as Avatar, Lord of the Rings, and also Titanic I guess. You may argue that HD movies are clear and enjoyable enough for common people, but there do exist some demanding customers who have a much higher requirement on the watching experiences and this requirement will never stop.

And for PS3 owners, they must be quite clear about HD movie format. Now that more and more PS3 players quipped with Blu-ray technology are swarming into American market, it is much more likely that the sales of Blu-ray will continue to grow. According to a media report, Blu-ray revenues increased 68.5% in the first quarter of 2010 compared with that of 2009 to $331.31 million.

 Although Blu-ray is continuing to grow at fast speed, there is still a long way to go before it can triumph over DVD. In spite of the seeming prosper and promising future, Blu-ray related sales still just account for 12.3% of all packaged media sales. It is a little bit high than last year, but it seems that many people tend to HD movies.
